Wondering what all those doodles in the invitation are all about?
Don't worry, we'll explain! Ü
But first, a BIG round of applause for Atsi Batsi Yas, who did the illustrations! Ü

DiCaprio

During our early "friendy-friendy" phase, I panicked when I found out that Jolly was dropping off a Christmas present at my house -- I didn't get him anything! In my haste, I picked out 2 items from Gift Gate: a coffee mug and a stuffed lion. I only realized it was holding a red heart when I got home. Kakahiya! Malamang inisip nya, nagpaparamdam ako sa kanya... (feeling kasi yan, e. Ü)

Lapaeh

A gift from Jolly during my grad ball, this stuffed tiger was sprayed with Jolly's cologne (style mo, ha!). When Jolly asked me if I already gave it a name, I said "'la pa, eh...". And that's where that weird name came from... (corny, 'no? Ü)

Junior

Buying a Christmas gift for Shar that year was easy. It was obvious by the way she hugged the stuffed monkey from Living Well what she wanted to get for Christmas.  I don't know why she's so fascinated with monkeys (and whether I should be insulted by this fascination Ü), but I was just thankful that I didn't have to come up with another creative super-gift. Ü
  Monkey it is! Ü

Mona Lisa

Jolly got me 3 gifts for our anniversary one year: a bouquet of flowers made of balloons (he made it himself -- galing, 'no?), a stuffed pig, and a 1000-piece puzzle of Mona Lisa. Guess where I got the name of the stuffed pig...

ICQ (and IRC)

We used to chat 'til the wee hours of the morning with multiple windows, each one with a different topic. It's amazing how we didn't run out of things to say to each other and how our conversations never ended with just a smiley or a "hehe/haha". It was a different story, though, whenever we saw each other in person. Torpe kasi yung lalaki, e.

(ha? ah... eh... hehe. Ü)

Beepers

Another mode of communication before the dawn of cellphones. Wag kalimutan ang phonecards! Kailangan yun para makatawag sa Pocketbell. Ü

Chess and Boggle (Crosswords and Scrabble too!)

Ang nerdy namin, 'no? We used to play these games to kill time while hanging out at my house. Simple lang naman kami. Simpleng nerd. Ü Hindi pa uso noon yung Sudoku. Ü

Purple Tulips

I'm not very fond of roses so Jolly would give me tulips in my favorite color. Unfortunately, tulips are quite expensive so I haven't received any in the last 5 years... *sniff*

Neoprint

Couldn’t get enough of this in high school!!! We probably got one of these every time we went out (as "friends" Ü). Minsan, may mga singit pang "date crashers" (Hello Joy & Janice!) hmph! Ü

Eating Out!

For those of you who witnessed our relationship develop, you've also probably noticed how our tummies (and my arms! my thighs!!!) ='( grew over the years. Blame it on our love for great food and our willingness to, once in a while (sige na nga, ALMOST ALWAYS), splurge on pizza, pasta, sushi and yummy desserts.

High School Grad Ball

The story behind this one can be found in the "And the winner is..." page. Ü It's a bit long (because, as you may have already noticed, Jolly's incapable of brief explanations Ü) but it's a good story.
Promise! Ü

Pendant

The “bribe” Jolly used to get me to agree to be his girlfriend. Ü
Never mind what was written at the back and how he asked! hahaha! Ü

Fireworks at EK (Enchanted Kingdom)

While still not yet officially a couple, Jolly and I had kilig moments watching the fireworks on a bench far away from all the noise and riot of high school kids who've had too many rides on the Space Shuttle.

Proposal Scrapbook & Engagement Ring

Check out the story in "The Proposal". A word of warning, though: you might need to shield your eyes from the sparkle of the super large diamond. Ü

Davao

This is where we had our first big "get-away-from-it-all" vacation together. Armed with just a
map and research material from the net, we braved the unknown that is Davao.

Here are
two of the many places we visited (and where Jolly *planned* to propose. Ü)

The Butterfly Garden *

* The Malagos Garden Resort Treehouse
